Meet the Doctor
Dr. David de Barros
Since 1988, Dr. de Barros has been helping people regain their health and free them of their pain by using a "whole person approach" when taking care of his patients. By combining the very best hands-on-technique, state of the art physiotherapy procedures and neuromuscular re-education, Dr. de Barros is able to help you to accelerate and/or maintain your journey to good health and pain relief. He strives to improve and update his knowledge in the field of chiropractic. He graduated from Life Chiropractic College and has completed post graduate studies offered by the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and is certified in Pediatric Chiropractic. Dr. de Barros also completed post graduate studies at the Spine Research Institute of San Diego for treatment and rehabilitation of whiplash injuries due to automobile accidents. He also specializes in helping patients recover from headaches, bulging discs (slipped discs), fibromyalgia, arthritis, neck and back pain. He and his well trained staff are committed to helping the Mechanicsville and Greater Richmond communities achieve optimum health, naturally.
The clinic currently has two doctors of Chiropractic on staff who are well diversified in the very best hands-on-techniques, state of the art physiotherapy, physical therapy and practical knowledge in exercise and nutrition. Here at deBarros Chiropractic, we believe in the basic premise that every individual has an innate ability to heal themselves if the nervous system is at optimum function. Dr. de Barros and his wife Yvonne, have two children and reside in Richmond, Virginia.

Our staff is here to serve you; explaining the details of how to make the paperwork a little easier, making sure you understand the doctors instructions in detail and treating you like a person, not a number or just another case.
Amy is our outstanding front desk chiropractic assistant. She will be your first encounter with our clinic. Starting with your very first phone call! Amy knows how valuable your time is and will make your visit pleasant and efficient. When making appointments, she will do everything she can to schedule an appointment that best fits your schedule. Our office is extremely accommodating to all patients needs, and Amy is amazing at making it work!
Shannon is our insurance specialist. She is here to make the paperwork and insurance issues as pleasant as possible. She will explain your insurance company's benefits and help you with a budget payment plan that best works for you. In this office insurance is filed in the most efficient way possible via the internet, and we participate with the majority of all insurance carriers. If you have any question regarding your benefits, Shannon is here to assist you in the best way possible.
Stephen is our physical therapist. He is here to facilitate the doctors’physiotherapy and physical therapy. Stephen has a extensive knowledge in exercise and nutrition, and will be available to answer any questions you may have.
