Back Pain
Amy O. After falling in February of 2003, I began to suffer with severe back pain and a sharp pain that shot down my leg. After seeing my primary care physician, he ordered x-rays and then referred me to a physical therapist. The therapy did not seem to help. I then decided to get a second opinion and his advice was to have a spinal block. I asked him what he thought of me seeing a chiropractor, but he said I was too far-gone for a chiropractor to help. I really felt that there was no hope left. I was unable to function to do any daily activities. I was not even comfortable enough to sit and relax. I was becoming irritable around people and was having a hard time picking up my baby. I would have to sit with him in my lab because I was experiencing such tremendous pain. I was also experiencing insomnia due to the aching in my back. I met the deBarros Chiropractic staff at a spinal health educational screening and decided to start care in November of 2003. In two months of chiropractic care my pain has gone from pain level 10 down to a pain level of 1!

During the pregnancy of my first child, my low back pain and daily headaches became more severe. It got to the point where I was in pain all the time. When I would get home from work, I would struggle to get through our nightly routine. I was also having trouble picking up my son, and the pain I was experiencing and lack of energy together limited our playtime. I sought chiropractic treatment from deBarros Chiropractic in June of 2000. The doctor was very through in explaining the benefits of chiropractic care. My treatments have been successful at relieving my pain and improving my life. Chiropractic care has been a miracle for me. My lower back pain is now non-existent and my headaches are greatly diminished. I have also noticed an improvement in my allergies, and in my overall energy level. Beginning in December of 1996, my five year old son, Quinn began having recurring ear infections (otitis media) that were so bad that he was lying on the floor, crying in pain. The ear infections were getting to the point that Quinn was taking increasingly strong antibiotics and each infection was taking at least 30 days to get better. Quinn’s pediatrician and general practictioner prescribed Biaxin, Amoxicillin, Antipyrene, Benzocaine, and other antibiotics, in hopes to clear up the infection and pain.In June of 1997, I heard about Dr. deBarros’ office through his wife, Yvonne, whose daughter goes to pre-school with Quinn. Yvonne deBarros was very informative, and never pushy with her knowledge of chiropractic.
Dr. deBarros worked with my two sons, Quinn and Luke. He took a lot of time to let my kids get to know them before they ever adjusted either one. The results of chiropractic care Quinn has received speak for themselves. His June ear infection was completely clear in 3 days with no drugs. We are thrilled!
Since Quinn had such excellent results, we decided to bring in his 1-year-old brother Luke as well. Luke had a lot of allergy problems, runny noses and inability to sleep well at night. Luke started chiropractic care at deBarros Chiropractic in September and his nose has been clear since! Now the whole family are patients of Dr. deBarros. I was currently having adjustments when the staff convinced me to bring Bryan, my son, in for adjustments. We were constantly making trips to the pediatrician who would simply give Bryan one antibiotic after another. His infections never really seemed to clear up. After having tubes put in Bryan’s ears I brought him to deBarros Chiropractic. The treating doctor has always been both patient and gentle, and Bryan really seems to enjoy his visits. I have seen such an improvement in Bryan’s health. We have not had to Bryan medicine of any kind for at least two months. It is such a relief to see him so healthy and energetic.
As a new parent, I was concerned about making the right decisions about my son’s health. After many conversations with the staff at deBarros Chiropractic, I felt more confident about how safe chiropractic adjustments are and how beneficial they would be to my son’s health. As for myself, I would like to say thank you to all of the staff at deBarros Chiropractic. Everyone has been extremely friendly and professional. For anyone considering chiropractic care, I would say that this was the best investment I have ever made.
Sciatica
Ruth B. I began treatment because I was experiencing numbness in my right thigh and had problems with the sciatic nerve down my right leg. There was also a catch on the left side of my neck. Occasionally, I woke up with numbness in my right hand. I had been having these symptoms for yours periodically, but the spring of 2002, they worsened and occurred more often, so I finally sought chiropractic treatment in September of 2002.Because of the problems, I became more sedentary and gained weight. I no longer enjoyed yard work or physical activities. I had to be careful how I moved and wasn’t comfortable sitting. I saw Dr. Buston, a general practitioner, for the pain, but was given no treatment, as he blamed it on my size and dismissed it.
I decided to give chiropractic a try after a coworker referred me to deBarros Chiropractic Clinic. Dr deBarros has really helped my lower back move back into alignment. The traction on my neck has also made a big difference. The catch in my neck is also gone, and I have only occasional numbness in my leg. If I do have neck or low back problems, I recover more quickly with treatment at deBarros Chiropractic. I can now do things, and have come much more active again, which has helped me to lose weight. The changes I have felt throughout my body have increased my overall sense of well being.
I appreciate Dr. deBarros’ explanations of the techniques he used and the way he keeps up with changes in the field. Dr. Bogdan has also contributed to my improved health and overall wellness. I start each day with the exercises he has suggested. In fact, the energy and positive attitude of the entire office staff makes me look forward to my visits.
